Chameleon Cold-Brew’s Whole Bean line includes varieties sourced from all over the world, including Central America, East Africa and Indonesia. The Single Origin changes seasonly to feature sustainably sourced beans from a variety of regions where coffee beans are flavorful and in season.
The first Single Origin highlights beans from the Chiapas region of Mexico with flavors of sweet, milk chocolate, cherries, and hazelnut. The washed process allows for flavor of the territory to shine through.
Chameleon wanted to source their coffee from Chiapas due to the great flavor and quality of the coffee beans from this region. However, Chiapas was unfortunately hit by Roya, a plant disease that causes coffee leaf rust, which devastated the plantations.
Chameleon was determined to help Chiapas rebuild, and so, they supported a farming community that is employing biodiversity by planting different varietals that are resistant to Roya, as well as a unique way to shade the coffee with corn stalks, which the farmers will use as a source of income until the coffee plants are ready to be harvested.
Through supporting Chiapas, Chameleon is able to source a single origin bean with the same high quality and bold flavor that the brand is known for in a sustainable way.
