Cinnamon & Cream Cheese Cold Brew Bites
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Filling Ingredients
- 2 oz vegan cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons vegan butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Donut Bites
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cane sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup vegan butter, cold
- ¼ cup Chameleon Cold-Brew Black Coffee Concentrate
- ¼ cup oat milk
- ¼ cup apple sauce
- 1⁄3 cup cane sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For filling, whip together cream cheese, butter and vanilla until fluffy then add in powdered sugar until thick and creamy.
Place filling in a piping bag with a tip and refrigerate until ready to use.
For donut bites, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl.
Cut in butter using a fork until it resembles coarse crumbs then stir in Chameleon Cold-Brew, oat milk and applesauce.
On a floured surface, knead dough until it forms a ball.
Rip off about 2 teaspoons of dough and roll into a ball.
Once all balls have been rolled, pipe 1 – 2 teaspoons of cream cheese filling into each ball then use a little water to pinch dough closed around filling. Refrigerate until ready to fry.
In a large pot, heat up about 2 – 3 inches of oil until it reaches 350°F.
While waiting, mix together cinnamon and granulated sugar in a dish.
Once oil is hot, use a slotted spoon to gently place 4 – 6 bites into oil then cook 1 minute, stirring occasionally until the dough is no longer gooey.
Remove bites from fryer and place on a paper towel to cool 5 – 10 seconds then roll the bites in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Finish frying and rolling bites then enjoy with a glass of Chameleon Cold-Brew Gingersnap Oat Milk Latte.
