Hero 2018: A Year in Coffee

2018: A Year in Coffee

As the new year approaches, we are reflecting back on 2018 and all the coffee trends that kept us fueled the whole year long.

While Chameleon Cold-Brew has been serving up Nitro Cold Brew On Tap for several years, this frothy cold brew favorite was the star at coffee shops, bars and restaurants alike in 2018. Nitro—short for nitrogen cold brew — refers to the process of infusing cold brew coffee with nitrogen gas to produce a fuller, frothier and fizzier cup. This process creates a creamy drinking experience without adding any dairy products.

Since the launch of Chameleon’s Organic Whole Bean Coffee, we have produced two Single Origin varieties which change seasonally in order to feature sustainably sourced beans from a variety of regions where coffee beans are flavorful and in season.

Our first variety from November 2017 came from the Chiapas region in Mexico where we helped farming communities rebuild after Roya, a plant disease that causes coffee leaf rust, devastated the plantations.
