We’ve compiled a list of the most popular questions and facts about Chameleon Cold-Brew’s caffeine content so you can sip (or gulp) with pleasure and ease.
How much caffiene is in Chameleon?
Caffeine content in our ready-to-drink 10 oz. coffees range between 150mg to 250mg per bottle. Flavored cold-brews are on the lower end of the spectrum, while our black and espresso cold-brew is on the higher end of the spectrum.
Caffeine content in our 32 oz. cold-brew concentrates is approximately 65 mg/oz. undiluted. We recommend 4 ounces of concentrate per serving to 4 ounces of liquid, such as milk or water. Our concentrates are customizable, so get creative and make the drink your own!
Does cold brew have more caffeine than hot coffee?
It’s complicated. Caffeine is more soluble at higher temperatures, meaning that the hotter temperature beans are roasted at, the more caffeine they will hold inside. However, time is also a big influencer on caffeine. Since we soak our beans for a longer brew time than most hot coffees (16 hours to be exact!), Chameleon Cold-Brew results in a more caffeinated coffee per ounce versus the average cup of hot coffee.
What about iced coffee?
Yes, do not let the word iced fool you! Iced coffee is regular coffee poured over ice, so the method of brewing iced coffee is the same as brewing hot coffee. Cold brew coffee yields on average twice the amount of caffeine as a regular (or iced) cup of coffee due to steeping time.
